Having correct posture starts with understanding biomechanics of body movement. Often people feel they have hunched shoulders so think that pinching the shoulder blades together or sticking the chest out will rectify the problem. More often than not, correcting posture means looking at the entire balance of the body and identifying bad habits in movement that are creating the imbalances. In these sessions, you will gain a mental and physical understanding of proprioception. Proprioception is the body’s ability to perceive its own position in space. This is necessary for precise and holistic movements that are essential for not only athletic movement but for everyday movements such as walking, standing, sitting down. Is your weight balanced on both feet when you walk, is your pelvis tilted when you stand thus putting pressure on your lower back, do you stick your neck out when you use the computer and text? Common problems that can be targeted: pelvic tilts, neck and shoulder imbalances, weight change, ribcage control, breathing correctly and more effectively
